Fishing and Diving

The west coast is known for its abundant see life.

Velddrif sports  two types of fishing.

Fresh/salt water. (river fishing)

Sea Fishing. (Atlantic ocean)

It is possible to catch a number of different species in the berg river because it has a mixture of see and fresh water near the mouth.

I have seen a few school girls catch 7 elf in about 45 mins. (elf is a very tasty fish)

You have a choice of miles of un-spoilt beaches to choose from.

It is also possible to have a braai  at the beach without getting arrested.
